For families
For families
We provide a lifeline to families who so desperately need it.
The Maypole Project provides family centered emotional support, where a child/young person has been diagnosed with a complex medical need between 0 and 18yrs.
Families can receive support from the moment of their child or young person’s diagnosis (or unnamed condition), including antenatal period.
We will support the whole family including siblings, the ill/disabled child/young person, parents, and grandparents. We promise to stay alongside families for as long as is needed.
Our support is tailored to each family’s individual need and we will support families at home, school, hospice or hospital.

Activities
Our activities are designed to bring children and young people together to create peer support, make friends, and importantly allow parents and carers to take a well-deserved break. We provide support throughout the year with weekly activities and outings during the school holidays. We welcome children aged 5+ and their siblings.
- Maypole Active – an inclusive sports club for children aged 5-11 years with a complex medical need, SEN or disability.
- Youth Club – provides a safe space for young individuals to relax, have fun, build confidence, gain life skills and create friendships.
- Holiday Outings – We offer a range of outings from sailing, going to the stables, trips to castles and steam trains plus much more. We provide transport on our minibus to make the whole day from start to finish an adventure.
