Family Support Outreach Worker

This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining The Maypole Project, we are a small, ambitious and hugely innovative charity that provides a lifeline of support for children with complex medical needs and their families. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to work in an organisation, which is at the cusp of a new and exciting phase of growth.

Our new and exciting programme of outreach work will deliver a range of services and initiatives to ensure that children and young people with complex medical needs and their families have improved access to support.

Key Tasks:

  • Provide 1-1 support for individuals
  • Responsible for delivering activities as mapped out by the Head of Development, both in community locations and on a 1-1 basis.
  • Family Support Outreach Worker to co-ordinate and supervise a programme of activities in conjunction with volunteers.
  • Work flexibly within a dynamic and mobile team to deliver high-quality, individual services to the people we support, within their communities.

About you:

  • You will have a qualification in counselling (diploma level or above)
  • Have at least one year’s recent experience of working with people in a social care setting.
  • Understanding of personalisation agenda, health and safety, support planning, and able to work with company guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills

Full Time: Part Time (3 days)
Location: Greenwich

This is initially a 12 month contract with the possibility of an extension, subject to the availability of funding.
